Accurately calculate customs and duties for US orders
The Landed Cost Calculator app helps you manage the new US import rules by automatically calculating customs duties and taxes on orders shipped to the United States, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Using live data from a third-party provider, the app ensures your customers see the correct charges at checkout, reducing surprises on delivery and protecting your business from disputes.
- Real-time calculations: Customs and duties are calculated at checkout using HS codes, product origin and order value
- Flexible collection options: Choose whether duties are prepaid, optional for the customer, or shown for information only
- Customisable uplifts: Apply percentage or fixed-value uplifts to cover additional costs
- Checkout messaging: Configure the wording shown to customers when duties are included, optional or cannot be calculated
- Full integration: Duties and taxes appear on orders in admin, exports, feeds and the API
App fees
During the month of September 2025 the app will be provided completely free of charge, to allow all our users and merchants to get used to the app and how it fits within their workflows and customer journeys. A pricing announcement for use of the app from October 2025 onwards will be made in the middle of September.
Charges apply to the following order types:
- Orders completed by customers through your website checkout
- Orders completed through express checkout
- Orders created and marked as paid in admin
- Orders completed in admin using an offline payment method
Charges do not apply to:
- Quotes created in admin
- Orders created through the API
- Cancelled or incomplete orders
App fees accumulate during the month and are invoiced on the 1st of the following month, alongside other app charges.
Getting started with the app
To install and configure the Landed Cost Calculator app, follow these steps:
- Select Install this app
- Enable the Landed Cost Calculator and configure your preferred collection option
- Assign HS codes and countries of origin to your products
- Set optional percentage or fixed uplifts for calculated amounts
- Customise the text shown to customers at checkout
